Dyeland Castle was elegantly decorated and a band in the corner of the Ballroom had just begun playing for the occupants. In respect for Andrew, Audrey and Jenni had agreed that this year's Halloween party would be a costume party, minus the scary decorations. The invitations had even been sent out decreeing that no one come dressed as a grim reaper!

Jenni walked into the ballroom, anxiously looking to see who her friends had dressed as. A slew of kids from Dyeland and Vincent's Tunnels ran by, several decked out in "Harry Potter" gear. Most notably was Vincent's son Jacob who was adorable as Pip from "Great Expectations". Near the band, Yvette and Adam were dancing the waltz. She was wearing an elegant, yellow ballgown while Adam was sporting gobs of make-up and a suit. They made impressive replicas of Belle and the Beast. Jennifer was mulling around, visiting friends, dressed as an adorable Eeyore. Karen and Audrey were searching the faces of the crowd, looking for someone apparently. The former had a very accurate Taz costume and Audrey was dressed as Princess Leia. Leigh, dressed as Lessa from "Dragonriders of Pern", was gazing out the window at her accompanying golden dragon, Ramoth, and several other creatures from the Whispering Woods out on the lawn, under the full moon. As Jenni continued surveying the scene, Audrey and Karen approached her.

"Hey, who were you two looking for?"

"Andrew. Have you seen him? I'm dying to see his costume." Audrey answered.

"He was coming wasn't he? There's definitely not a Grim Reaper in sight!" Karen added.

"Yeah, he should be here. I'm excited to see what he chose to be, also. And Vincent, too. Seen him?"

"Here I am," Vincent answered as he walked into the ballroom dressed in courtly garb.

"Hmm... The hero of some great book... A king, for sure, but of what?" Jenni asked.

"You should know, you live in my kingdom, good Lady of Shalott. Although, you never do leave your tower so I suppose even the king can't expect to be known."

"Wow, you actually know who I'm supposed to be! King Arthur, my liege, very nice costume. And we're both in the same poem!" Jenni answered happily.

"We are and as king I hereby declare you are forbidden to go any where near boats."

Jenni laughed, "Okay, I'm the Lady of Shalott before she died, when she was happy. But enough of that, I can see we're weirding Audrey out. You seem to have some admirers." Jenni nodded over to a couple of women near the refreshment table trying to discreetly stare. Vincent smiled, took leave of the group, and approached the table.

"Hmm... Now where is that Angel Boy?" Audrey wondered aloud.

"I hope he didn't get called away. Maybe Adam will know. Adam!" Jenni called the angel of death over as he walked past them.

"Hello there ladies, lovely costumes. How are you?"

"Good thanks, and you?" Audrey asked.

"Quite well, you haven't seen Andrew by any chance, have you?"

"Actually, we were hoping you knew where he was. I hope he didn't end up having an assignment. I think he was actually looking forward to this." Jenni responded. "You don't suppose he's upset still... After we made him tell a scary story." Jenni continued, staring into the fireplace.

Jenni was set to organize a massive manhunt... or angelhunt?... when suddenly, there was thunderous applause. Everyone turned to face the other side of the room. There, dressed in a stunning, very flattering suit stood Andrew. He had appropriately enough chosen to be the King of Hearts from "Alice in Wonderland". Andrew smiled happily and quickly began chatting with everyone at the party. It was one of the least taxing Halloweens of Andrew's existence. In fact he was even overheard to say, "Maybe I have judged Halloween to harshly. It's not that bad... When there aren't any grim reapers!" Andrew was even a little sad when the last dance of the evening ended.
